It started with Ron

Lucy's grandfather, seen here on the far left, began his foundry apprenticeship at fifteen years old, completing it before being called up as a Bevin Boy in the coal mine subscription during WWII.

In the 1950s Ron was one of the founders of Brentford Foundry and later Foundry Manager for Wilman Marine in Teddington.

During his career he trained many foundry men. After 64 years in the foundry Ron was forced to retire at the age of 79, due to ill health.
